Holistic Healing for Beginners
Fifteen years ago, I didn’t know this kind of healing existed. And then questioned if it would actually work. But being at my wit’s end with extreme pain, fatigue, and anxiety (which was something I had never dealt with prior), I was willing to try anything. Thankfully I came across a holistic doctor that set me on a path of healing. And within three months, I felt like he had saved my life.

What Does Holistic Healing Mean?
Holistic approaches to healing recognize that the body, mind, and spirit are connected and that they all need to be addressed in order for true healing to happen. It’s an approach that uses alternative methods to address health issues through natural means.
Our body is a unique creation where each part is intertwined with the whole being. When one part of the body is unbalanced, it causes unbalance throughout. This is why it is so important for our health to be fully balanced throughout our body, mind, and spirit.
How To Tell If You Need Holistic Healing.
Let’s begin with the body since that is the easiest to recognize if you need healing.
Severe fatigue, inflammation, pain (arthritis, chronic headaches/migraines, joint issues, etc.), gut issues, eczema and other skin issues are some of the ailments we tend to think of since they are sometimes thought of as less severe. But if you suffer from any these on a daily basis, you know exactly how severe they can become. Dealing with these day after day not only affects your body, but begins to affect your mind and your spirit.
But even illnesses such as liver, kidney, heart, and other diseases can begin healing with the holistic approach.
Now, let’s move on to how you can tell if your mind needs healing. Anxiety and depression can wreak havoc on us, as most of us know. But trauma, lack of care, negative thoughts, and difficulty trusting need to be added to that list, along with not handling stress in a healthy manner. Let alone long enough can start having an affect on our physical body-low immune system, fatigue, and illnesses listed above can arise.
The last one, the spirit or the soul, is the most difficult to identify when it needs healing. A broken spirit can be described as the destruction of self-esteem, joy, and belief in yourself. It can also mean you’ve lost your dreams and hopes, and just not being yourself. In extreme cases, having a broken spirit will leave you feeling in a state of despair with feelings of worthlessness. This goes deeper than the feeling of sadness or depression.
If you suffer from any of these and would like to get on a path to healing, I offer a free 7 day online course that’s called Renew, that teaches you the basics of setting goals, change of diet, importance of movement, stress management, and relapse prevention.

3. Beginner Tips to Healing
Knowing where to start can be overwhelming. The best way is to start small and go from there, adding when you’re ready.
My number one tip on healing the body, mind, and spirit is food. Look at what you put in your body. Is it helpful or harmful? Our diet not only effects our body, but our mind, emotions, and spirit. If this seems to be a daunting task, again, start small. Cut out sodas or reduce the intake of fast food. Even if you cut out one soda a day and replace it with water, that’s an accomplishment. Little changes turn into big changes.
Tip number two is movement. Daily movement, even small and slow, will start healing your body, mind, and spirit. Walking is the easiest to begin with. If you can only walk ten minutes, then walk ten minutes. If you can only walk to the end of your driveway, that’s great, keep doing it every day. Soon enough you will be able to add more minutes and distance.
If walking isn’t your thing, that’s okay. Find something that is. Yoga, swimming, sports, anything that involves movement. Exercise should be something you enjoy, not something you dread.
Tip number three is to find a stress management skill. Not only does it give your mind a break, but some can give your body and spirit a break as well. Things like meditation, journaling, breathing exercises, and aromatherapy are some goods ones to start with. My favorite is coloring. I enjoy being able to zone into the page and forget everything that is troubling me. Like exercise, find something you enjoy and what works for you.
My last tip is gratitude. Begin each day with a list of things you are grateful for. If it helps, write them down. Acknowledging and expressing gratitude changes your mindset and heart from one of negativity and sadness to one of positivity and peace. The more you do this, the more you will see the changes in your life.
The healing process can be overwhelming. Remember it’s okay to ask for help. Little changes turn into big changes. You just have to take the first step. If you’re ready to take that first step, I’d love to help you. In my free online course, you will receive the basic tools needed to start that journey to healing. I still use these to keep my fibromyalgia at bay. That’s how I know it works. And it can work for you, too. You just have to take that step.
I truly wish you well, my friend.
Love,
Kelly
