Have you heard about this phenomenon called grounding? There are so many benefits in the ground beneath your feet. Grounding, or Earthing, happens when our bare feet (but other body parts can work, too.) is connected to the earth.
The list of benefits to this practice is almost endless. But here are just a few that most of us could use help with:
· Improves Sleep
· Stress Levels and Anxiety
· Pain
· Muscle Tension
· Inflammation
Do you suffer from any of those? If so, let me be the one to tell you, friend, grounding can work wonders for you. I’ve suffered all of those listed above and grounding has been a life changer. Before I knew what earthing was, my body apparently knew the importance. A few years ago, I started having a bad panic attack. Something inside me told me to get outside and quickly. Without hesitation, I ran outside and laid down on the ground. I kid you not, within seconds I could feel myself starting to calm. And within minutes, my panic attack was completely gone.
So, if you’re ready to start feeling better, let’s get to it!
First off, let me say that if you don’t have the book Earthing, I highly recommend purchasing it. It’s amazing and has everything you could possibly learn about grounding.
Now, on to the good stuff.
1. Improves Sleep
Kudos to you if you are getting those eight recommended hours a sleep on a nightly basis. But for the rest of us, this area can be challenging and could use some improvement. Those that ground sleep fall asleep faster, sleep better through the night, feel more rested when they wake up, have a reduction of back pain, and feel like they have improved in their overall health.
Now, most of us don’t take our pillow and blanket and head outside when it’s time to go to sleep. So how can you achieve the same benefits? I’m so glad you asked. The answer is a grounding mat or grounding sheets.
So, if you’re struggle is sleeping, try getting a grounding mat or grounding sheets. You’ll be sleeping like a baby in no time and reaping all the benefits.
2. Stress and Anxiety
Chronic stress makes our stress level remain high for long periods of time-weeks, months, and sometimes years.
Being in nature as proven to bring those stress levels down. And when those levels come down, our anxiety naturally comes down. So, if just being in nature can help, imagine what earthing can do.
Whenever possible and as much as possible, walk around outside with your bare feet. Within minutes you are going to feel a tingling sensation and feel the change.
But if your job, living situation, or just your life doesn’t allow you to get outside much, that’s where that grounding mat I mentioned earlier can help. I not only use it in the bed while I’m sleeping, but also while I’m cooking, sitting at a desk, and doing yoga.
Although I recommend getting outside if you can, not only for grounding purposes, but nature also provides us with so much more. But if you can’t, this grounding mat is the next best thing.
3. Pain
There’s a story in the book I spoke about earlier, Earthing, that I’m going to share of piece of with you.
There was a woman that participated in a study that had crippling rheumatoid arthritis in the joints of her hands and arms and had difficulty walking. The author of this book wanted to test the electrical charge in her body to see if grounding may possibly help her. But getting outside was too painful for her. So, he decided to put an electrode patch on her forearm and connected it to the ground wire coming into her bedroom. Within the five to ten minutes of chatting, the woman told him that the pain in her arm improved considerably. They decided to move the patch to the other arm and within minutes, the pain in that arm had gone down as well.
Other studies were done with the same results. This is where localized earthing comes into play. It doesn’t always have to be through your feet. You can lay your arm, hand, back, wherever the pain may be on the ground to receive the benefits.
4. Muscle Tension
Muscle tension is one of the main symptoms people complain about when they are stressed. It may feel like your shoulders could touch your ears at any moment. Or that your back is so stiff you can barely bend over.
There was a study done to see what earthing did to those with and without muscle tension. Those with a high level showed a decrease on both sides within thirty minutes. Those with no or very little muscle tension showed an increase to get the body to the normal level of tension we should have.
These folks felt the difference in only thirty minutes. That’s amazing.
5. Inflammation
Chronic inflammation can cause an array of ailments. Body pain, fatigue, gut issues, weight gain, infections, diabetes, fatty liver disease, cardiovascular disease, and even cancer can occur from chronic stress.
Grounding reduces the inflammation in our body. It defuses the cause of inflammation and then improves or eliminates many inflammation disorders. Inflammation is the root cause of so many chronic illnesses. So, lowering that will automatically help the other symptoms you are experiencing.
My suggestion to you, is to start grounding today. The earth’s energy is available anytime-day or night. Take a walk in your bare feet, sit outside with your feet in the grass, purchasing a grounding mat, find a way. The soles of your feet have more nerve endings than any other part of your body. So, get them on the ground.
Earthing is so simple, yet so powerful. It restores the body’s electrical rhythms to promote healthy function. And isn’t that what we want?
If the idea of grounding has piqued an interest, again, I highly recommend getting the book Earthing to find out even more of what grounding can do for you.
Get grounded.
Get well.
Get pain relief.
Heal.
I truly wish you well, my friend.
Love,
Kelly
